vanishing tabs

I

I notice that if I set a new tab before entering text, it stays put
from one paragraph to another, but what if I want to set a new tab
after I've written something? As far as I can tell, I have to set it
again for each paragraph. Not much of a problem if it's just one tab,
but if it's several, the process is lengthy and confusing. What am I
missing here?
TIA,
Ian

Hello Ian -

Essentially Tabs are a para formatting attribute, so if you want to make the
same adjustment to all paras you can simply select them all (Cmd+A or
triple+click in the left margin), then make the adjustments.

Tip: You can triple-click in the starting para, then Shift-click the ending
para without having to do any dragging if its just a series of paras but not
the whole doc. If the paras are not consecutive, triple-click the first,
then Cmd+click in the left margin adjacent to each to be affected & make
your changes.

PS - I should add that Tabs can also be set as a part of a para Style (which
is the preferred method of formatting). If you need to adjust tab settings
you simply modify the style & all paras with that style applied will be
updated automatically.
