I never have had to read instructions on a Mail Merge... that was before I
started 2003 - what a horror this merge is. Microsoft I hope you are
listening.

My question: I have a separate field for TITLE, INITIAL, FIRST NAME AND
LAST NAME. MATCH LABELS do not give me the option of allowing me to use
INITIAL. Normally I would use the FIRST NAME for the INITAIL option, but
this time I have both. I am not using the MORE ITEMS option to do this.

You see I want to say Mr & Mrs J Smith then a Dear John style of document.

What can I use for the INITAIL? And why does the INITIAL find it self at
the end of the RECIPIENT BOX?

Finally, do I need to use Mr. Josh Q. Randall Jr., to allow the initail to
come in or can I use the option of Mr Josh Randall Jr., OR IS IT ALL TO DO
WITH THE MATCHING OF FIELDS and never mind about Josh!

Thanks for any answers I get. Cheers

Do NOT use the address block. Just insert the individual merge fields in
the configuration that YOU want them. I also suggest that from the View
menu, you select Toolbars and then check the Mail Merge item so that the
Mail Merge toolbar is displayed. It has buttons on it for all of the
operations required in connection with mail merge.
