Activeworkbook.FollowHyperlink

What I want is not IBM, but Stock

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but it seems you just want to
concatenate a literal and a variable - the fact that the end result is a URL
doesn't seem significant.

If your variable, Stock, contains "IBM", then

Activeworkbook.FollowHyperlink Address:="http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s="
& Stock

will hyperlink to http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=IBM
