Variation Duration

Please, what is the variable that set Variation of Duration of some task ?
I am using MS Project 2003 Std.

Hello René,
Open the Task Information dialog box (double click the row of the task) and
go to the Advanced tab:
Task Type = Fixed units
Fixed Duration
Fixed Work
and Effort driven = checked or unchecked

Nb : Duration x Number of res. units = Work

not sure what you're asking .. do you mean why does duration change when you
add resources or change work?
