VB Editor and Macro Functions Disabled

A user was pasting macro text into the Outlook 2003 VB Editor. He ran the
macro several times. Now, when the user attempts to open the VB Editor,
nothing happens. Also, Tools, Macros, Macros doesn't bring up the macro
list, and and you can't get into Tools, Macros, Security.

Any ideas on how to reset this user so they have that functionality back? I
have renamed the user's vbaproject.otm file with no success.

TIA! MarieJ

In Outlook, VBE is implemented as a COM Add-In in a file called
outlvba.dll which lives in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\OFFICE11\ADDINS". If this file is missing or the registration for
this file is corrupt, you would see the behavior you're describing.

Running detect and repair on Office should fix the problem. If that
doesn't work, please let me know.

Thanks,

Thanks, Michael!
I didn't do a detect and repair - your comment in the first paragraph made
me think to look in Help, About, Disabled Items, before I did the detect and
repair and there it was!

I appreciate it! MarieJ
