VB Editor - Command key stuck?

L

This is driving me crazy; I hope someone can help.

When I'm in the Visual Basic editor, if I press any letter that has a command key assignment, it performs that action as if Cmd were pressed - if I press "g", it opens the Immediate window. If I press "r", it goes to the Object Browser. If I press "s", it saves my document. It's impossible to actually type anything!

This is only happening in the VB Editor, it's happening in the editor in both Word and Excel, and it happens whether it's in an existing file or I create a new one from scratch. I can paste text into the editor just fine.

This is Office 2004, btw.

Any suggestions?

I am sure you have been to your System Preferences and checked to ensure
that you have not re-assigned these keys.

And I am sure you have checked that you do not "actually" have a stuck
Command key.

So I am at an utter loss.

Do a Safe Boot of your Mac (see the Mac Help), then:

Try starting Word while holding down the Shift key, and see if that makes a
difference. If it does, it means there is an add-in loading that is
intercepting keystrokes.

Hope this helps

Sorry, I should've said - yep, I've checked both of those. Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try it tonight.
