My VB Editor mysteriously stopped working a few months ago and I'm tired of
not being able to use it. I had previously been using the VB Editor on my
machine for several years without any problem.
The problem first occurred when I attempted to launch the VB Editor from
Tools/Macro/Visual Basic Editor. MS Access (2002) would simply hang. No
error messages displayed. I also attempted to open a standard code module
from the database window and got the same results. I rebooted the machine
and tried again, but the problem remained.
Later, I tried opening the VB Editor from Excel, Word and PowerPoint and got
the same results. The applications would simply hang and had to be killed
via the Windows Task Manager.
After much frustration, I uninstalled and then reinstalled MS Office 2002
SP3. The VB Editor still would not work no matter which MS Office
application I used.
I recently purchased and installed a new copy of MS Office 2003 and tried
again and got the same results.
My operating system is Windows XP Home SP2.
Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?
