Hi,
I see that I'm not the first one to ask about this problem, but I have not
been able to get it fixed, so I'd like to see if there are any specific steps
that might help. Here is the background:
- Using Proj Pro / Server 2007.
- Proj Pro crashed (during task copy/paste operation) and since then, I've
been getting the File Not Found error. Despite the error, the project opens
and most functionality appears to be working.
- I get the error dialog twice when opening a project, and once when closing.
- When I check in a project, the "Synchronizing with server" message that
usually shows in the status bar is showing in a poorly formatted dialog box.
- This is only happening for one project (located on the server).
- Other people in my office can open this project without the error.
- I also get the error when opening Macros.
- I ran Office Diags; no problems detected, but it did tell me to upgrade to
the latest Service Pack, which I did (no help).
- I did a Repair (from the XP Control Panel Add/Remove Programs) to no avail.
- I got a copy of global.mpt from a colleague and placed it in
..../Office12/1033. No help. I deleted global.mpt; no help. (Then I put it
back).
- I deleted the macros that caused the error to appear when clicking Edit.
No help.
- I exported the project to XML, but when trying to open that file I got a
message that it's corrupted.
I would appreciate any help in finding a solutions. I'd also like to know
the root of the problem. Is there any way to tell WHAT file is not found? I
don't understand why my colleagues don't see this error, if the corruption is
in the project, so it much be local. Is it the file that holds the macros?
If so, where is it so I can replace it with a good one?
Thanks for any help.
