VB6 OWC and warning message

P

Hi,
I have a VB6 app using the OWC pivot table OCX. On some machines (Office
2003 and IE7 I think) users get this warning message:

This website is using your identity to access a data source. If you trust
this website, click OK to continue, otherwise click cancel.

This is a VB6 app, hence there is no website to add to the trusted sites.
This is really annoying since the message appears anytime the pivot table is
opened.

Any help in avoiding this warning would be greatly appreciated

I'm really not sure why this is happening for a windows app. For web apps,
we usually tweak the security settings in the browser to allow ActiveX
controls. You might try that approach to see if it works.

Thanks Alvin,

After some experimentation, it appears that Office 2003 had this problem.
This is fixed in Office 2003 SP2.

BTW tweaking the security settings did not fix it. Upgrading to Office 2003
SP2 fixed it. Finally for the record, it occurs also when IE6 is installed
(probably unrelated to IE)
