Hi-
First post to this group -- Hello, all, and please feel free to point me to an
existing thread or a more relevant group if you know of one!
I've been asked to provide my hourly requirements for a 6+ month contract in NYC
under a 1099 contract. I'm new to this, having been in salaried positions for
years.
My benefits were always included in my salary. My question is how to come up
with a reasonable hourly rate, since health and dental insurance, etc. won't be
included.
I've Googled a few sites, but the numbers are all over the place. I'm sure other
folks have encountered a similar situation, and I wonder how you came up with an
hourly that you and your agency were comfortable with?
BTW, I have lots of experience in what they're looking for, excellent refs and
work samples, etc. I got a call within minutes of submitting my resumé online,
so I'm pretty sure they're interested. I don't want to price myself out of the
market, nor do I want undersell myself. They'd like an answer by the end of the
day.
All opinions welcome!
