onto a usb pen and copy it onto a friends PC that hadn't got them installed.

But I cant find the vba help file on Word 2003? Does anyone know where it is
stored as I want to be able to take it to work as work have kindly decided
not to install the help files!!.

For an English installation, look into the
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\1033
folder for the following files:
VBAWD10.CHM (Word)
VBAOF11.CHM (Office)
and, for those two to work properly, you also need
MSOHLP11.CHM

(If you are not using an English installation, change the 1033 folder name
for the number that corresponds to your language.)

Or, you can go on the web and get the word object library refrence at
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa271452(office.10).aspx
