Can anyone tell me where the VBA help files for Access (Office) are
located/installed and what their names are?

This depends entirely upon what version of Access is installed. The default
directory and name of the VBA Language Reference Help file for Access 2003
is here:

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\1033\VBLR6.CHM"

Other VBA Help files in this directory are: VBCN6.CHM, VBENDF98.CHM,
VBHW6.CHM, VBOB6.CHM, and VBUI6.CHM.

If you aren't using Access 2003 and can't find these files on your hard
drive for an earlier version, then please post back with the version you
have installed and then somebody can better answer your question.

A2K Help is well-known to be pretty screwed up. I prefer to look-up A97 Help,
coz it works.

For your example (TableDefs):
-A2K doesn't work for "context-sensitive", though TableDefs can be found via
the index.
-A97 and A2K2 does work for "context-sensitive".

The fact that it works in A2k2, suggests MS did some major work there to
correct the problem they introduced with A2K. In the meantime, use another
Help System!

Access 2000 help files do not exist in an Access 97 installation.

Office 2000 uses a new underlying technology for help (HTML Help) in place
of the WinHelp technology used by Office 97.

You can copy the .hlp files from the Office 97 installation, but don't
expect to get working context-sensitive help in Office 2000 as a result.

It is still worth copying them, though. You can open them directly (just
double-click the .hlp files) and search them for topics that you have
difficulty finding in the help system in later versions.
