VBA shutting down application when trying to open

S

SMY

I have run into a problem with VBA. Anytime I try to open VBA, it
immediately closes the program that I am trying to open it in (word or excel)
and VBA does not open. It also immediately closes if I try to run any
command that requires VBA. For example, when I try to convert a word file to
a PDF file, it immediately closes word. I am running XP pro and Office 2003.
I have tried unistalling and re-installing VBA as well as a complete
un-install and re-install of Office 2003. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

This question would actually be better directed to the Office.setup newsgroup,
but here are some standard things to try:

Help/Detect and Repair in any of the Office apps with VBA support

Start Windows in Safe Mode. If the problem disappears, then you've most likely
got a conflict with another app (such as management or antivirus software) or a
driver. Check what's loading on start up, and deactivate them, one-by-one, to
isolate the culprit.
