VBA Socket / Winsock control / issues? Demo app provided.
I adapted a Winsock control demo from VB into Excel VBA. Am looking to do
some potentially taxing communications through a socket to and from Excel
spreadsheets. Was wondering if anyone else has done this and if there are
any issues with Excel that emerge as the speed ramps up:
*Dropping events (what are the various states where Excel stops processing
events, etc.)
*Cuing back Winsock messages (how big a cue? FIFO?)
*Any type of throttling issues?
*Anything else to be concerned about, or to think about in advance
I'm not looking to press the upper limits of what Excel can handle speed
wise and am much more concerned about dropped data or other weird behavior.
The applications are in the Investment and Trading System area where
robustness is critical.
Any help / tips for the uninitiated in this are GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
