VCARD opening with Palm Desktop instead of Microsoft Outlook

I am using Windows ME operating system. I cannot seem to
change the file association of VCF file extensions
contacts)in Microsoft Outlook so that vcards properly open
with Outlook instead of Palm Desktop. The Palm desktop is
setting itself as the default vcards handler, and I cannot
change that through the Palm desktop even after
uninstalling and reinstalling Palm Desktop.

Palm technical support indicates that I will have to
change this through Microsoft Outlook.

I have tried changing the file extension association in
Folder Options from Palm desktop to Outlook, but I cannot
properly export or forward or save vcards that way.

Can anyone help?

Control Panel->Internet Options->Programs tab. Set the contact viewer to
Outlook.
