Vcards - What Parts of the Spec Are Supported?

D

Diane

Hello - I am trying to find information on what aspects of the Vcard spec
Outlook, Outlook Express and OWA support. I have searched the MSweb, ran a
google search and called MS but found little information - only references
that Outlook supported 2.1 but not 3.0. I saw the posts stating that photos
were not supported , and also comments that some other features were not
supported so I gather the full 2.1 is not implemented.

Can someone help me understand what specifically is not supported and any
variations by client if that is an issue? Also, does using the client with
exchange create any difference in vcard features supported versus using
Outlook alone?

Thanks very much for your help.

OL2007 has photos in the vCard and seems to be using v2.1 of the spec

OWA has no vCard support, since it's a browser-based application with no ability to import or save files other than files attached to Outlook items.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Would you know of any place that lists all the
features that are not supported in addition to the photos?

Thanks again,

It's not documented anywhere, except at Microsoft internally.
