Vector Graphics

I would really like to use a vector graphic format within Frontpage and my
web pages, to get fasterand higher quality images.
I am designing the graphics in Adobe Illustrator and can export to most file
formats, but none of the vector formats seem to be recognised by Frontpage.

Could someone please help?

On the web you can only use JPG (RGB subformat), GIF and PNG format

That's right, FrontPage will not render vector graphics of any type. There
was and is a standard for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) that emerged for
use on the web but Autodesk and Microsoft alike both had their own vector
file formats and for their own respective reasons refused to support SVG
despite the standard having been adopted aby W3C.

The problem with vector graphics, which FrontPage CAN do using "Word Art,"
is that there are several types, the most common of which is SVG, and you'll
run into browser support issues with any kind of Vector graphics. The vector
graphics that FrontPage does are NOT SVG, but can be viewed in Internet
Explorer.

So it is not a good idea to use WORD ART. But if you really want to you can
do a screen capture of the WordArt, crop etc. and save the image as a jpg or
gif. This method probably applies to vector graphics as well.

Whats really neat is if you do a webpage in Publisher (yuk)
and bring that into the web, it will automatically create a
gif of the word art. You could then import that image into
the web.

however Publisher and Frontpage don't mix that well and should be avoided mixing
the two.

I would never suggest to do actual web pages in Publisher.
More like do the word-art in publisher and save as web page.
Grab the GIF from the created folder and import that.
