Veiw in menu gone

For some reason I have lost VIEW in menu bar when I open excel. Also, I
have clicked on Format Bar in preferenceces but it won't open. Can anyone
help?

What version of XL are you using?

One suggestion:

Choose Tools/Customize/Toolbars. Select "Worksheet Menu Bar" (i.e, so
that it's highlighted, not just that the checkbox is checked), then
click Reset.
