veiw task for specific time period

I need to list all tasks for a specific time period. Can I do this with MS
Project? I'm trying to generate a few reports.
1) Baseline Variance for a specific time period
2) All Tasks due in a specific time period

I'm having a hard time getting this information.
I think that I need an interim plan to compare the progress of tasks to the
baseline. How do I do this, if this is the right thing to do.
Is day 4 on MS Project...
Thank you

You will need to create a filter. Go to the project menu, select filter and
browse around to see what is available. There is a date range one which
should fit your purposes. Now once you are sure it does what you like, go to
reports and customize one so that it uses that filter.

You don't need an interim plan to compare the progress to the baseline.
First you need a saved baseline (tools menu / tracking / save baseline if
you haven't done so already) and then switch to the tracking gantt view.
