Verify printing over network

Using Access 2003 (adp) as local front end to process web orders on remote
sql server. Part of the application (xp pro machine 1) prints a pick ticket
out in the warehouse (xp pro machine 2) and sets a flag in the order.
Problem is it frequently fails to print and I cannot figure out how to
verify it actually printed. The print box (now printing......../remote/lpt1)
displays just fine unless there is a network problem regardless of whether
it prints or not.
