VeriSign Digital ID: Password

P

Pleonasm

Once a VeriSign Class 1 Digital ID is installed in Outlook 2003 (Windows XP),
can the password protecting the Digital ID be changed? Can the security
level (e.g., low/medium/high) be changed? If so, how?

Thank you for your assistance.

To be clear, certificate is not installed in OL2003, but in a special
container in Internet Explorer. :)

Not sure of the answer (usually when I have to do it, I export certificate,
remove it and then re-import it, giving new password and security level),
and maybe another method exists. Better for you to ask on Internet Explorer
newsgroup or security one, for example:
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.security
or, better, doing a little search before asking it (maybe someone else
already posted that question).

Ciao

Via Internet Explorer, I believe so. I have a cert to which I added a
password and I didn't like being prompted each time I used it, so I removed
the password again. I would think you could remove the password and add a
new one.

This would surprise me. VeriSign is certifying certain functions and trust
levels. Seems to me that changing the security level of the cert would
violate VeriSign's certification.
