I have some interesting errors here ,these errors occured in th
previous server as well and they seem to be just starting on the ne
Windows server with SBS(Small Business server) loaded on to it.
Firstly the OS across the networked PC's is XP ,well they are a
different levels of updates applied to them: Some are at SP-1 and som
at SP-2 Update level.
The word versions also vary across ,varying from word
2002,2003 Varying updates and Service packs .
As we know that there are quite a few updates released
between updates, and here in this network they are not
uniformly distributed.
Here is the error code that shows up on opening some word document
that are located on the network drive on the new server.
"A table in this document has become corrupted. To
recover the contents of the table: Select the table
and choose Convert Table To Text from the Table menu."
and the related error code from the microsoft website
that I could easliy salvage.
This problem could not be solved even after I applied the require
software updates. The only thing that resolved this problem on th
previous occasion was achieved by shutting down the server!
Excel sheets just fail to respond, unlike word document that bring ou
the error and corrupt the data.
One more interesting point to note is that the directory and or th
file attributes tend to change to and from normal mode to read only??
can anyone help?
