I had Office 2003 running peacefully on my system. I have proceeded to
install PowerPoint V07 on the same computer, being careful to choose only
that one application for install and being equally careful to designate that
the previous version should be left intact. As a presentations consultant
and PowerPoint trainer, I have done this routinely on many systems. However,
the last two times, Outlook 03 has talked back to me. Upon load and upon
receipt of email, a "Configuring Office 2007" dialog box appears, does some
unknown amount of business for about five seconds, and then goes away.
I was hopeful that it was a one-time thing; it's not. Every time that
Outlook 03 receives mail, it insists on first configuring Office 2007,
despite the fact that Outlook '07 was never installed.
Any ideas on how to eliminate this annoyance?
