Vertical alignment of text in drawing object

O

Otto Genf

When I add text to an autoshape (rectangle, circle, etc.) I would like to
align the text vertically in the center. For an entire Word document under
page setup, I can select the vertical alignment as center to change from the
default of top, but for the entire page. Is there something similar to this
for the text within an autoshape, or is this just a manual process of
adjusting the points before via formatting the paragraph. An automatic
alignment would be most beneficial when the size of the autoshape is changed
and not having to readjust the points before setting for the paragraph of
text in the autoshape.

I am using Word 2003

Unfortunately, there is no way to vertically align text in a text box (which
is what you get in an AutoShape). In an ordinary text box, you can insert a
table cell and use the vertical alignment control in the cell; whether this
works in an AutoShape or not, I have not tested.
