Vertical gray line in Gantt chart (MS project 2000)

There are gray lines separating the months. That's cool.

However, there is a one gray line about 2 thirds of the way through
one of the months. What can cause that?

It's possible that the one gray line represents a non-working day in the
project calendar.

If the standard calendar has been amended to include bank holidays, and then
the Gantt chart is formatted to show non-working time, you will the
non-working day in the Gantt.
