Vertical page position in Status bar

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

In the good old days of Office X I could see the vertical page position of the cursor in the status bar, which was very useful. Now I've finally upgraded to Office 2008 (with its big fat ugly toolbars) I can't find a way to get the vertical page position into the status bar, specifically in print layout view.

Please don't tell me that's progress.

Wouldn't begin to describe it as Progress - most of us miss it as much as
you do! It has been laid on MacBU's table & we're hoping that status will be
returned to the Status Bar in the [not too distant] future:) To help
emphasize the point you might take a moment through Help> Send Feedback to
register the whys & wherefores of its advantages to you.
