Vertical Ruler

I cannot get the vertical ruler to show up on a document. What do I need to
do to get it to show on all my documents?

To: Lacy,

Are you using the "Print Layout" view?
If you go to Tools -> Options and look on the "View" tab, do you have
Vertical Ruler checked?
