Vertical Spacing with Word Art

I am placing text on top of a jpeg that has a fill in the blank space on it. The only way I could figure how to do it since the box is at an angle is to use Word Art. However, the text needs to be on two lines and the leading between the two lines is huge. I need to scrunch the vertical space between the two lines. How can I do that?

I don't think you'll have much luck with WordArt. There is no setting for
line/vertical spacing control. Even text formatted in the document then
pasted in as Word art will not retain any of the spacing attributes.

I think your best bet is to create text boxes in PowerPoint [or Excel] where
the text in text boxes rotates with the boxes. Copy from there & paste into
Word. You have most of the same formatting options so if default formatting
isn't quite right you can reformat in PPt & re-paste. The pasted box in Word
will have to have Text Wrapping of some sort applied to it min order for it
to display in a legible fashion & permit positioning.

You may still not get the result you want, but that's about as good as it
will get... Word just isn't designed for that type of task.
