Vertical Text doesn't display on another computer

I've created a Visio document using the vertical text feature of Visio.
When I copy that file to another computer all of the vertical text appears
to be on top of each other for any object. I've enabled vertical text using
Options, Regional, Vertical Text.

Both machines are Windows XP SP1 using Visio for Enterprise Architects
(10.0.2705). The machine that can't display vertical text initially had
Visio 2000 Pro installed and I uninstalled, then installed Visio for EE.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi JD

I believe you're seeing an example of a bug that shipped in Visio 2002. Latin text that is displayed using the Vertical Text feature does not compose correctly (it's all squashed together, as you describe) unless there's an "Asian" font installed on your system. In my experience, it doesn't seem to matter which Asian IS on your system. And, to be clear, you don't have to use that font for your vertical text, but having one present clears up this bad text behavior

As an aside, the Vertical Text feature is really designed as an Asian Typography feature. In most cases, if you're just using Latin text, it's probably better to rotate the shape or the shape's text block -90 degrees

Hope this helps
Pau
