vertical text

I want all my connector line labels to be vertical text. The only way I have found to change the direction is to put a text box in and rotate it rather than using the line label feature itself. Any way to make the text direction vertical for all labels in a document?

Christine,

Try this in the document where you want to change the text label direction
(these steps are for Visio 2003 -- the instructions are slightly different
for previous versions):

1) Go to the File menu and choose Shapes > Show Document Stencil
2) In the Document Stencil window that appears, right-click on the Dynamic
Connector master, and choose Edit Master > Edit Master Shape
3) Choose the "Text Block Tool" from the Standard toolbar (it is found by
clicking on the arrow next to the Text Tool)
4) Select the connector
5) Choose the round rotation handle on the text box and rotate the shape 90
degrees
6) Close the master edit window and choose "Yes" when prompted to update
the Dynamic Connector and all instances
