We have a report that has vertical text in several label that the text does
not appear depending on the PC. In Expert-Exchange their solution was:
Solution 1:
Microsoft have now solved the problem:
From Settings > Control Panel > Add or remove Programs, choose Microsoft
Office 2003 > [Change] > Add or Remove Features.
Under Office Shared Features > International Support has the sub-option:
Universal Font (was "not installed") -- changed to "run from my computer".
Vertical Text now displays in all fonts.
This solution was dated Dec 2005. This solution worked on our Terminal
Server running Office 2003.
Solution 2:
Allen Browne replied to a similar problem
(http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread611186.html) (March 2007) with a
solution of using Arial CYR
Is solution 1 unreliable?
My bigger problem is that some of our customer use Access Run Time and that
does not have the customized install/change ability. Is there any
workaround for it? I would hate to have one report with some of the text
using a different font from everything else and hope that the customer has
Arial CYR (much less tell them how to install it).
Thanks,
Mark
