Very irritating Wnidows XP/Word Glitch

Mark H

The text in Word flickers constantly on my computer when
the "smooth edges of screen fonts" option is turned on in
the Windows XP Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance
Options box is turned on. The flickering stops when I
turn the option off, but then the text becomes very
grainy and hard on the eyes. So Windows is forcing me to
either put up with constant flickering or text that makes
my eyes sore after 10 minutes! Has anybody else seen
this? It's extremely annoying.

Try updating your display drivers, or re-setting the refresh rate. It may be
possible that your hardware is not up to being pushed this way. You are also
likely to get some better tips from a Windows XP hardware newsgroup.
