VERY SLOW to open

Since installing 2007 Beta, Outlook is Extremely slow in opening (error on
close, checking personal folders.pst status bar); also when i'm typing it
keeps "freezing/stalling" for a few seconds and then "catches up" with what i
typed - i lose focus on my cursor during this time and more often, even,
where i have to click on where i'm typing to find my cursor... doesn't run
very smoothly...

anyone else with these or similar issues?

Disable all your add-ins as they are most likely incompatible with Outlook
2007. Also you might want to leave Outlook open overnight (just for once) to
build the initial search index.

right - have no add-ins, really (oh - i do have Kaspersky's Anti-spam and
Anti-spyware added-in; will do)...

i saw the indexer when i installed; perhaps i stopped it from indexing when
i did install - does that mean it has yet to do so? if so, how would i run it
now? my Outlook stays open all night anyway )

I should index automatically and only when the computer is idle. So if your
install was successfull it should index. You can see the status in Control
Panel-> Indexing Options

search" that it's connected to? why do i want this desktop search, and what
exactly is the indexing for aside from that?

No problem.

As it has no interface on its own yet currently it is only usefull for
Outlook and OneNote since these applications provide an interface to search
their type of items. A single indexing service is much more efficient than a
separate indexer for Outlook, OneNote and other files that you have on your
computer; less duplicates, less of a resource hog if they want to index all
at the same time, applications can just "tap-in" on this single framework,
etc...

In the end; you'll find your documents lots faster and eassier.

well, removing my Add-Ons sped opeing up, but i'm still having a VERY
annoying problem with my typing stalling - it seems that it's every minute,
as i look at the clock every time it happens, and it's always a minute
later... typing freezes in the middle of a word for about 5 seconds, and then
catches up with whatever characters i've typed after the point of its
stall/freeze and then is fine for another minute.

this is very bad, as i am constantly communicating with my clients via email.

anything you have in mind that this might be? anyone?

Switching to one of the header fields (To, CC, BCC, From) and then beack to
the body is a possible workaround.
Also note that in some cases currently Outlook may hang when it is
collecting mail.

I have the same problem as glenn.php, that as I type, and I notice it when
I'm replying, though it may be present when I'm originating a post, that I'll
type for several seconds then it freezes for several seconds, then be
available for several seconds, and freeze again, and so forth. I don't think
clicking a header will do a thing as the whole program freezes. If I place
the cursor over To, CC, BCC, etc., I'm looking at the hourglass until it's
ready to do something. I'm double checking indexing settings, but this has
been a regular and irritating problem.
