Very slow to open

Word 2000.

If Normal.dot exists in "C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates"
then Word takes minutes to load. Delet Normal.dot and it opens immediately.

No recent installs, no new hardware, AVG, Ad-Aware and S&D all say OK.

Have tried all "fixes" I can find from both MS pages and MVP's page(s) to no
avail.

Uninstall/reinstall didn't fix problem.

Sp1 & sp2 haven't fixed problem. Getting sp3 as we speak but being dialup
this is a real pain.

No go, checking service packs seems even that's a screw around as sp1 ended
with "failure" message. Of course, only after the download via slow dialup
which if I go that route again I'll have to download again (argh!!! MS
greedy idiots).

Install/uninstall doesn't want to run mentioning looking for some service
pack.

The whoile things a complete mess, typical of Windows one glitch screws all.

So how do I manually delete every damn peice of bs is installed for the
product, both files and registry keys, e.g. list of files and keys it messes
with when installed? That includes "hooks" into god knows what else.

Let me guess, there isn't any "complete" way, all one can do is delete
folder, main reg key.and hope.
