Very Strange??? - Cannot Select Custom Dictionary in Word X

hi there,

just tried to add a custom dictionary (US English) to my so far (empty)
list. The problem is that I cannot select the appropriate files (even
though I see them). The files are grey so thast I cannot select them.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that they are in the right place (Office X
--> ...) I also see a bunch of files like "English Grammar Dictionary"
"English Hyphenation" "English Spelling" etc. together with a whole lot
of other languages....? I'm somewhat confused... (but a Mac-beginner so
there is at least reason to be confused). Any ideas from anyone...? I
appreciate your help.

Did you create the custom dictionary first?

Did you tell Word you were creating a custom dictionary when you created it?

Where did the file you want to add come from?

Word's Help on custom dictionary is actually pretty good, by the way.
