TIA folks, we have a user trying to open a document on her laptop, it's about
140 pages, a cut and paste of previous documents. Note that other users can
open it okay. Print drivers have been ruled out. I've also saved the doc as a
rtf, then back into a doc in case previous coding was the culprit. Other than
this, Word works fine for her and other profiles on the laptop.
When she opens it, Word immediately hangs with a serious error message and
is then broken on the laptop, but only for her. Other profiles can use Word
fine. We have to rebuild (empty) her roaming profile to get Word to open
properly again.
She *can* open the document on a different machine with the same roaming
profile. So, it seems to be a combination of the laptop, profile and
document. If you take any one of these away, it works for her.
Laptop - profile - doc = breaks
Laptop - fresh profile - doc = breaks
Laptop - fresh profile - new doc = ok
Laptop - other user - doc = ok
Other machine - profile - doc = ok
We've spent a few hours on it and we seem to have hit a wall, I'm hoping
someone can help shed some light.
Thanks,
Kevin
