Video won't save In frontpage or upload to website

Using FrontPage 2003 and my web site is up and running. I'm trying to add a
page and embed an .avi video (15 min). I can't view it in PREVIEW mode, it
won't save and therefore won't upload/publis. I did follow instructions on
how to do this, but I'm not getting anywhere. A friend suggested that I
upload directly to the root directory of my web site... since I'm not a web
person (I let FrontPage do most of the work), I haven't a clue how to do
this. I can't even find the root directory in my webpage control panel.
Now... if you are able to stop laughing at me... I could use your help.
Please teach me (smile).
