Videos and sounds do not play in Powerpoint when they used to

I have a presentation with videos and sounds inserted which I have been using
for a while. Recently, the videos and sounds do not play anymore. When I
click on the video, the video screen turns blank and I get no video, no
sound, and no error message. When I click again, the blank screen goes away
and I can click on to the next slide. I run Powerpoint 2003, with
MediaPlayer 10 completely up to date. Sounds also do not play.

Did you happen to move the presentation and video and sound files? Maybe to a
new sub-folder? Try moving them to C:\Test and see whether that fixes it. If
so, it means that the full path to the files was too long.

Another possibility is if you moved the presentation file only, or you moved the
video and audio files only. That would cause broken links to the files. See:

Thank you. I had moved the folder containing the presentation file and the
video and sound files and made the path longer. Once I moved the folder into
C;\Test it worked again. So I will move it back into a location where the
path is short enough. Thank you again.
