Hi

We recently upgraded our small business computers to Office 2008. Let¹s
just say it¹s been a tough transition!

We are a training firm and we run small video files (.mov and mpeg4) in our
presentations. The movies are still running fine... UNTIL we connect to
the client¹s projector or our external monitors in the office (this is
happening with all projectors and monitors, so it¹s definitely a software
issue).

The video does not move on the projected screen. We have audio but no
movement. You can imagine the embarrassment this causes us.... Not exactly
what we forked out thousands of dollars for.

It happens in both the dual screen mode and the mirror mode.

Took the 15² MacBook Pro concerned to the Mac shop but they said it¹s a
software issue.

HELP please!!! I fear having to pop in and out of the presentation format
to play the videos to the clients at tomorrow¹s training.

Many thanks,

Damian.

HELP! I bought a Macbook Air and loaded Office 2008, and now the Quicktime movies embedded in my Powerpoint presentation that worked fine in Office 2004 play audio only, no video. Clearly a software issue. Renders my machine useless for my work. No help from Apple.

Hi,

The change you made shouldn't cause the problem you're describing, and I
can't recall seeing it previously.

Quicktime plays the videos - PowerPoint hands that job over to
QuickTime. Can you successfully play the videos outside of PowerPoint
using QuickTime?

Maybe you installed Flip4Mac or some other QuickTime codec on the old
machine and didn't install it yet on the new one.

Have you run Apple's Disk Utility to repair permissions?

Hi Jim, I have a similar problem to Scott. Recently upgraded to Office 08
from 04 and am on an Intel Duo MacBook Pro. I get audio and video but when
I project the videos don't play smoothly. I fear I may need to downgrade
because I really must have this working for my work.

The videos play fine in ppt in the normal mode, but not in the projected
mode. The audio runs but the video stalls and freezes and jumps or
disappears completely. It happens with all external monitors (I have tried
several projectors and external screens). It happens with Quicktime and mp4
and wmv files, but is worse with the latter. It happens in both mirror and
two-screen modes. It happens intermittently. It never happened with 04 -
same ppt files, same video files.

I already have flip4mac installed by the way.

Any thoughts?
