I have a mac powerbook g4 with os x [panther] and ms word os x. i am
trying to figure out if i need to purchase special fonts/keyboards to

As I understand it, Ninah, Word won't be able to handle all of the
diacritical requirements of the the Vietnamese alphabet. You need unicode
fonts, and Word X (the current version) isn't unicode aware. I don't think
it will be a feature of Word 2004.
