It's possible to see all the detailed information of my resources
timesheets without being their TimeSheet Manager in Project Server
2007? or, can a resource have many TimeSheet Managers?
Please, consider this case:
- I want the resources only track work hours in the TimeSheet
section.
- I want that PMs update the % completion of all their project's
tasks, being based in the work hours that their resources report in
their TimeSheets (of course, also being based in their knowledge an
personal comunication with resources, but that not concerns Project
Server).
This situation is possible if we set 'blank' the 'Default Assignment
Owner' of all resources and the PM is set as the TimeSheet Manager of
all of their resources.
BUT what if we have a resource who is working on many projects that
are managed by different PM's? Then, one of the PMs can't see their
work hours reporting (if we can only set one TimeSheet Manager, of
course), so that PM is unable to use the feedback of their resources
to determine which is the % completion because Project Server didn't
give him any information about that.
Timesheet Summary View in the (Resource Center --> View Assignments
--> TimeSheet Sumary View) give an idea about what I am finding, but
it isn't useful because it only give the PMs a global number (or sum)
of hours by period of time, but PMs have no method to determine which
part of this global value of hours concerns to their project's tasks
and which to the other projects that the resource are assigned.
There is another better way to manage this situation?
Any suggestion will be really appreciatted.
Thanks in advance!
