View colors of shapes in normal view

When I first got Visio, anytime I created a flowchart the shapes would be
shown in their true "fill" color and "font" color. Basically, the way they
looked on the screen would be identical to the way they would print out. Now
for some reason, everytime I use Visio everything is in black and white and
looks "raw," if that is the right word. I must have changed at some point
properties to only work in this "raw" black and white workspace. Can anyone
help me understand what Visio properties I need to change to get back to how
I originally viewed my workspace?

THANKS!!!!

Check your layer colours, menu View -> Layer Properties
and check that each layer hasn't had a black colour associated with
it.
