view comments

i am inserting comments into a document, i have the view
set to final showing markup, and i want to see my
comments on the page, rather than have them show up in a
section at the bottom of the screen. am i doing something
wrong?

What version of Word? If this is Word 2000 or earlier, you will see the
comments as ScreenTips when you mouse over the commented text. If it's Word
2002 and you have balloons enabled, the comments will appear in balloons in
Print Layout view but only in the comment pane in Normal view.

Hi Suzanne,

In Word 2003 the 'mouse over in text' comments are back
in all 5 views, as well as the Word 2002 methods. :)
The mouse overs were supposed to be there in 2002
but the feature was sometimes broken <g>
