View Effective Rights Tool, a couple questions

R

Robert

Hello,

Should the View Effective Rights Tool work okay with SQL 2005? I have
it installed and it's not working properly. It used to work. I've
followed the steps in the Project Server Administrators Guide to the
letter and it still doesn't work. When attempting to view the View
Effective Rights Page it says error in the bottom left hand corner of
the browser window and nothing appears in the main area of the
browser, other then the options bar. The cursor sits at the sand dial
icon for awhile then it just stops. I've tried this from multiple
computers using IE 6. Can someone give me some suggestions on how to
fix this? Thanks.

Robert,

I have not had an issue with it under sql server 2005 however, I did need to
reinstall it afer I applied a sevice pack. You may want to try and reinstall
and re-register the .dll.

Not sure if it will work but...

Hope it helps. :)

Robert,

Has it ever worked for you? What Service Pack is running on Project Server?
Can you run the View Rights Query thru query analyzer?

It has worked in the past. We are running Post Service Pack SP2A.
How do I run the view Rights Query through query analyzer? Thanks.

I'm in the same situation and seeking guidance on this topic. If you or
anybody else figures out how to move forward in diagnosing the problems,
please post them.

Thanks,

Al
