view existing folders, sections and pages in outline format?

Does there exist a way to get an overview of the notebook, showing the names
folders, sections and pages in a hierarchy, preferably printable? It seems
to me that there should be. Something similar to what you see when you use
the 'Move' command, but perhaps more complete printable?

Thanks for the response.

The View/Page List seems to be a quarter of the way there, to me:
- can the page list be printed? if that function is there, I don't see it,
which could be me...
- the hierarchy as shown seems to be incomplete. I see a list of sections
and pages (I think), but no info as to what folder they are in, or new info
about nested folders.
- I had hoped to find something analogous to a 'table of contents' with
perhaps a more global expand/minimize control?

I'm not sure if this makes sense; it's a functionality that I'm surprised
isn't there, or, if there, isn't more evident.

That's as far as the functionality goes in the current version. This is
actually the first time I can recall a feature request for a printed table
of contents and I'm sure it wasn't high on the priority list. It's an
interesting idea and maybe if enough people want it that can make it into a
future version.

You can open up your Move section window and do a screen clip of it and then
print it out.

I would like to see the Page List stay open instead of having to click it
open every time. Sort of like Outlook's Navigation Pane - I want the option
to keep it open. Much easier to traverse my multiple folders and sections

The navigation pane in OneNote 2007 makes it considerably easier to move
between multiple sections and notebooks.

LOL, just now, I find the hierarchy that opens up when you click on the 'My
Notebook' at the upper left. D'oh. So that's about 60% there; the 'table
of contents'-like hierarchy is complementary with the way that my mind works,
and I love that you can navigate to any folder or section from that pane.

My wish list:
- provide a 'button' that stays visible so you can open that 'My Notebook'
hierarchy with one click from anywhere you might be in the notebook, rather
than having to navigate back to the top...
- provide the ability to make this page-size, I guess similar to creating a
'NFS Page'.
- add the ability to display page titles
- add some macro level minimize / maximize capabilities. (Show all
levels...down to ... Show top level only)
- make it printable for those of us who want to take the table of contents
of our lives to an easy chair to contemplate
- make it possible to rearrange the notebook on that page, rather than
having to manipulate the tabs along the top to move things around.

There. Piece of cake, right? As we used to say back when I was in
marketing...it's only software. :)

I completely agree; it is important to be able to print the Page List! I
hope that this can happen in the next update.

If you are hoping for that next update to be OneNote 2007, then I have to
disappoint you unfortunately.
