View options have vanished

Me

Greetings.

I have an Access database that I created long back in Office 97, and then
continued using in Office 2000, but a peculiarity has developed following my
recent upgrade to Office XP.

The database includes a "startup macro" to open a front-end form containing
various options to select from.

If I open Access first, then open the database, go to the macros, and
double-click on the startup macro, the view that I get is the front-end menu
as expected, and the "form-view" toolbar is visible. And in the menu options
at the top, "View" is one of the options. Great - all as intended.

But I have a shortcut in the Taskbar that links to this database, ending in

/x startup macro

In the past when I used this, the database would open just as described
above.

But now, using that shortcut opens the database without the form-view
toolbar, and without "view" as one of the options in the menu bar top of
screen.

How can I create a shortcut icon that works as it used to?

Thanks

Hi,

My name is Eric. Thank you for using the Microsoft Access Newsgroups.

Have you tried renaming your macro FROM "startup macro" TO "startupmacro"?

Just a note using "/x macroname" works but is not recommended. Preferred
methods are AutoExec macro and Startup items.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
