view outlook/hotmail remotely

I have been using hotmail for several years and my only complaint is that I
can not break down the folders into subfolders;
I have had MS office products for years, but never used Outlook. I have
outlook 2007. I was going to use it for my email account because it allows me
to organize my sent and received emails into folders/subfolders/sub-sub
folders, etc.
I have several computers at home and access my email remotely at work
(hotmail).
The way I understand it, I can access my email through Outlook at only the
site where the outlook is installed.
Is it possible to remotely access my outlook email from work/other computers.
BTW, I do not have Exchange Server or any other server products.
I do have Vista Business on laptop and Vista Ultimate on my desktop.

You can access one PC from another using tools like Remote Desktop Connection,
VNC, pcAnywhere, GoToMyPC, and others. If all your mail is on the Hotmail
Live servers, though, just use your web browser to access the server, like you
say you do from work.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately your advice is worthless. Did you
not read the first line of my post? I said the problem with hotmail is that
you can not organize it into subfolders.
On the other hand, in outlook you can organize the emails with
subfolders.... but you can't access it remotely.
Using remote access software like GoToMyPC for $180/yr is ridiculous. Is
there nothing in between?

If you know how, I would love to know the answer. I have googled that
question repeatedly (how do you organize hotmail into subfolders?).
In fact when I googled that question just now, I found a response on the
Windows Live Hotmail Feedback Forum (Feb 2009). A MS person responded to this
question from a person named Anders:
" Hey Anders, thanks for the nice feedback =) Creating subfolders is a good
idea as well. Our product team has a constant conversation about it but I
can't give a time frame on when it will be included as one of the features of
Hotmail. Just continue sending your feedback and feature requests as they
help us in improving our services to you. Thanks."
I am learning that hotmail is IMAP, Outlook is POP3. With POP3 once it goes
from the Hotmail server to Outlook you can't change it back to IMAP (IMAP
lends it self to being viewed from other sites, POP3 doesn't).
I will try to muddle through the "connector" but I haven't found any good
step by step instructions for it.
Right now, I am looking at using MobileMe (an Apple product, that is
optimized for Safari). This however, cost $99/yr.

I have quite a few folders I created in my hotmail account. They are at the
root level rather than nested under other folders but they still allow me to
organize my mail.

POP3 supports downloading only the Inbox. Even if you have subfolders in the
Inbox, you wouldn't be able to download them. If you switch from pop3 to
the connector you can reload the messages to the hotmail server.

Hotmail is DeltaSync or POP, not IMAP. Outlook isn't "POP". It has a POP,
IMAP, or MAPI transport it can use.

With POP3 once it goes
from the Hotmail server to Outlook you can't change it back to IMAP (IMAP

It does if you leave the messages on the server. You can certainly re-add the
Hotmail account via the Outlook Connector and move messages back to Hotmail
from local storage, if you wish.

Using remote access software like GoToMyPC for $180/yr is ridiculous. Is
there nothing in between?

Remote Desktop Connection is built into Windows for the Professional,
Business, and Ultimate editions, I believe, and can be added to the Home
edition with a free download from Microsoft. Many (most?) VNC implementations
are freeware. Different implementations of it have different capabilities.
