View Past Task Updates by Resource by Time Period

Using Server 2007 and not using timesheets, can you view past task updates in
PWA by resource and by a select time period? Functional managers want to be
able to compare their resources payroll timesheets against the task updates
to verify the hours charged are the actual hours entered towrds project
progress. So I need to be able to filter by resource manager and then select
a time period for the group of resources to view their latest task updates.

Not sure where to begin in 2007. Any help greatly appreciated.

Navigate to the Task Updates page in PWA. Click the Go To button and select
the Applied Requests and Errors item. You will see the history of all
updates submitted, along with whether they were approved or rejected.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to see they by resource and time period.
If you want to see the numbers submitted for any update, simply click the
name of the task for which the update was selected. The system will open
the Task Details dialog to show you the information.

For your reporting needs, you might be better off to ask your Project Server
administrator to create you a custom Data Analysis view with the information
you seek. Hope this helps.

Hi Darrell,

you should be able to run a report based on Data Analyser. You can group and
filter your resources in various ways and show their actual work by a given
period. That should do the trick
Hope this helps

Thanks Dale, Paul and Marc.

If I remember correctly I was able to produce this information in 2003
through the Resource Center so I wanted to be sure 2007 was again going to
required a different process. I will begin looking at the Data Analysis
capabilities and developing a custom view or report.

Thx again,
Darrell
