View Resource Assignments

Hi,

In Project Server 2003 an option existed to view resource assignments in a
Timesheet format as well as a Gantt Chart format. This provided us with the
opportunity to extract time phased data based on resources or projects. Then
using the Export to Excel function we could manipulate the data in a variety
of ways.

In Project Server 2007 I have not been able to find a similar view. I have
tried creating a view under Resource Assignments, but from the available list
of fields I am unable to get any time phased data to appear. I selected the
Progress field, but it does not display in the view when it is accessed.

The goal is two fold.

One to replicate access to time phased data that was provided via View
Resource Assignments for Project Managers to faciliate generation of reports
they are currently using in 2003 without resorting to Data Analysis and the
cube.

Two is to provide staff with an easy access view that provides a way to
check and make sure they have entered time for the week against the tasks
they are assigned.

This was easily visible in the 2003 product with the Tasks | Timesheet view,
but now seems to be lost in the 2007 product. The My Tasks view (modified to
show Hours per day) does a poor job in that it is not connected to the
reporting week, does not display the days of the week and does not total work
across the week and down the days like the 2003 product did.

Any suggestions on how to achieve these two goals (preferably without using
Data Analysis) would be appreciated.

Thanks!
