View Resource Plan

Project Server 2007 + SP1 + IU + Dec 2008 CU.
I need to know if there are any security setting that let you open a
resource plan in "read only" mode? I've made some testings and it looks like
it's not possible to open a resource plan if you've unchecked the category
permission "Manage Resource Plan". If that's correct then what purpose with
the global permission "View Resource Plan"? For me it sounds like this option
allows a user to view resource plans, but I could be wrong...

There is no way to open a Resource Plan in Read-Only mode. The View
Resource Plan permission to which you refer actually enables the Resource
Plan button on the Proposals and Activities page in PWA, which allows a user
to open a Resource Plan for editing (Read/Write). Hope this helps.
